Refresh – “Starting Fresh, Aiming High in 2012”
Do you Ever wish you could hit the "refresh" button for your life? We know when things become stuck or overloaded with our computers the refresh button is always available to help us get back on track. Actually, the beginning of this New Year 2012 gives us all the opportunity to clear away the clutter of our lives and to get back on track with fresh New Year’s resolutions, high aims, and positively life-altering goals.
Now that sounds great, doesn’t it? But we all know from past experience that New Year’s resolutions with their high expectations and lofty goals generally don’t materialize. We routinely give up the pursuit of them after we encounter difficulty and initial failure in accomplishing them. We tend to give up the chase all too soon, because the resolutions we make are not really as high stakes in our minds as we appear to make them. Shedding a few pounds, pursuing a bucket list, and overcoming a habit or two are things we may find important, but not really essential for life satisfaction and, if we will be honest, just not worth the effort.
What if, however, our New Year’s resolutions pertain to things that are truly high stakes, quintessentially vital, absolutely essential for life, and failure to obtain them would harm not only ourselves but also others we cherish? Wouldn’t the fulfilling of those resolutions be worth our time, effort, and even tears? Maybe we should reevaluate what is important for this New Year from God’s vantage point and hit the refresh button and get “moving on” what and where God is “on the move.” But what are the high stakes goals God has for me and wants from me in this New Year? That’s a great question! Come find out the answer during the January message series, Refresh, beginning Sunday morning, January 1st at CrossPointe Church.

GREETING TEAM - Do you enjoy being friendly and welcoming to people? If so, the greeting team may be for you. We need both inside and outside greeters to join our team. Responsibilities include welcoming regular Sunday worship participants and helping our guests by greeting them, directing them, and helping them sign in.
