the door: OUR VISION
1.
Ministry leadership that is naturally relational and aspires to have meaningful relationships with all students, regardless of the particular challenges or personalities of each student.
2.
A ministry that centers on communication that is timely and well-planned for both students and parents.
3.
A ministry that is centered on the positive and the hope that Christ gives us, and avoids negativity, particularly when interacting with students.
4.
A ministry that spurs students to grow in their relationship with Christ and encourages them to become fully-committed Christ followers.
5.
A ministry that regularly encourages parental participation and assistance in completing the tasks of the ministry.
6.
A life-changing ministry that inspires students to invite friends and acquaintances.
7.
A ministry that naturally seeks out newcomers to make them feel comfortable and welcome.
8.
A ministry that honors and values all of its volunteer leadership, and seeks to edify them at all times.
9.
A ministry leadership that focuses on a “can do” attitude and accomplishes the goals of the ministry rather than focusing on barriers or the reasons things can’t be accomplished.
10.
A ministry leadership that embraces the church philosophy of ministry and understands the role of the student ministry in the larger framework of the church as a whole.
11.
A ministry that gives equal emphasis to the five purposes of the church and aspires to see well-rounded students who understand each facet of their relationship with Christ:
- As worshippers: ministry leaders who model worship as lifestyle, and present themselves as lead worshippers in corporate settings.
- As those being discipled: by providing a place where students can enter as non-believers, or anywhere else along the timeline of salvation, and can grow closer to Christ through teaching and interaction that is understandable and applicable to their lives.
- In fellowship: with the understanding that effective student ministries must provide regular opportunities for relationships to grow.
- In service opportunities: to give the students regular opportunities to minister to others and demonstrate Christ’s love to others through their actions.
- In missions opportunities: by providing regular venues for the students to share Christ in their daily lives and as a student team.
